Russell Savage, owner and pit master of Pico's BBQ, was destined for a life in food. One of his earliest memories was going over to a friend's house just to see his parents' vegetable garden that left him in awe.
As years went by, the culinary curiosity kept growing. It propelled him through culinary school and into fine dining.
It was time for Russell to make a career change but still within the realm of food. After watching Aaron Franklin preaching the smoky gospel on YouTube, Russell packed up his car and moved to Texas to learn the craft.
After working in 3 different Texas Monthly top 50 BBQ joints, he was ready to come back home to the Bay Area and share with people his new found love. That's when Pico's BBQ was born.
With open arms and the hearts of a servant, we cordially invite you to taste the carefully smoked meats that Russell fell in love with in Texas.
